Keep creative variations organized

Hooks, formats, and edits multiply until nobody knows which version is which.

For a creative team producing several hooks or placements from one approved concept.

What good looks like.

A buyer receives a variant manifest that identifies the intended difference and the exact approved export for every placement.

Starts when
The strategist approves a concept for a defined creative test.

Where AI could help.

AI can draft hook alternatives and flag duplicate names; the strategist selects the variable and reviewers approve each export.

How the work could move.

A suggested process to adapt to your team. Each handoff needs a clear owner and a visible check.

  1. Define the variation

    Strategist

Write the test question, fixed elements and changing element in a variant matrix.

Ready when: Each planned variant has one identifiable purpose.

  2. Assign asset IDs

    Producer

Give each hook and placement a unique ID and record script, duration and aspect ratio.

Ready when: The editor can map every export to an assigned row.

  3. Produce renditions

    Editor

Link source projects and numbered exports; record any departure from the script.

Ready when: All requested renditions exist and departures are visible.

  4. Review each file

    Creative lead

Check crop, captions, audio permissions and product statements against the matrix.

Ready when: Approval names the exact file version and placement.

  5. Accept the manifest

    Media buyer

Open final links and compare the pack with the requested test.

Ready when: Missing files are resolved and accepted variants are recorded.

Explore the setup, checks, and exceptions

Start with your tools.

Use a spreadsheet variant matrix linked to scripts, your editing tool and existing file storage. Version-aware review is optional; no integration is required.

When things go wrong.

  • A changed hook plus changed offer is a different test; ask the strategist to revise the matrix.
  • A rejected crop holds that rendition, without silently rejecting or approving its siblings.
  • A renamed or replaced export must retain its variant ID and receive a fresh version decision.

A useful first step.

Build a two-hook pack for one placement and ask a buyer to distinguish the files without opening chat.

What to measure

Count missing or incorrect renditions and clarification requests per accepted pack.
